Addie Jean Payne

Addie "Jean" Payne passed away on November 19th, 2011 at the age of 88.
She was born on December 20th, 1922 in Portland, Oregon. Attended grade school in Sunnyside/Happy Valley and completed 4 years at Milwaukie High School. After attending Business College in Portland she worked for the Portland Police Department, State of Oregon Radiation Control and then finished her career working as the investigative administrative assistant for the Oregon State Medical Board.
After her initial trip to Hawaii in the 70's, she fell in love with the islands and made it a point to return there regularly thereafter. In retirement she was fortunate to be able to extensively travel the world with her daughter Nancy. Her love for the Hawaiian Islands was only rivaled by her love for sewing and bright colored fabrics. "Jean" as she was known to those that knew her, was fun-loving and made friends with everyone she met. We will miss that gregarious sparkle in her eyes as she lived life for the moment.
She was preceded in death by her son Ralph Payne and her parents Oscar and Myrtle Olson. She is survived by her Daughter Nancy Hinsch, Son-in law Mike Hinsch and her Brother Richard Olson. In lieu of a memorial service, there will be a celebration of Jean's life at a Luau in her honor next summer.
