Arma J. Marsh

August 10, 1927 — September 11, 2020

Arma Jean Tunison was born August 10, 1927, in Rhinelander, WI.  The eldest of four children born to Arthur and Emma Tunison, she grew up in White Bear Lake, MN. Near the end of the war, she wed Gerald Marsh and had three young boys when they moved to Oregon in the late forties. Two more boys and four girls were born to the Marsh family in Oregon, where all nine children were raised.
Adopting her middle name as her first when she moved west, Jeanne Marsh became an active mother in the West Union community. Her open door welcomed neighborhood children to the yard and her dinner table. After years of cooking for her family of eleven, Jeanne then worked in food services.
Over the years, Jeanne enjoyed water aerobics in Hillsboro, building doll houses as gifts, and collecting white teddy bears. Her dog, Marley, and his predecessors were much loved companions. Family gatherings would include members of all ages, an abundance of good food and easy laughter. Such times were a special source of joy to Jeanne.
Jeanne passed away on September 11, 2020 in Hillsboro. She is survived by eight children: Gary (Sherrie’) Marsh, Jeff (Jan) Marsh, Mike (Linda) Marsh, Dennis (Nita) Marsh, Susan (John) Jellum, (Michael Booth), Keith Marsh (Kathy Poor), Kathy Peck, and Janis (Paul) Engel. Preceding her were her daughter, Debra Booth, in 2016 and son-in-law, Bob Peck in 2020. Too numerous to count, are those who call her Grandma or Great Grandma, all will miss her greatly.
A Celebration of Life will be planned in the coming year. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Humane Society in her name.
