Benny Sedillo, 37 passed away unexpectedly on August 30th, 2020. He was born in Hillsboro, Oregon on September 21st, 1982. He was the first son of Cecilia Sedillo, and was the 2nd of 4 children. He was raised in the Hillsboro and Beaverton area surrounded by a large, close-knit family that he cherished. He attended Hillsboro High School and went into the building maintenance field when he was just a teenager, working in assisted living facilities where his passion for helping people thrived. He spent 17 years at Cherrywood Village, starting out as their Maintenance Technician. With his strong work ethic, and compassionate nature, he soon became the department lead and eventually the Maintenance Director. Benny loved working with the elderly, and supporting their community. His caring and helpful nature with everyone ensured that he was beloved by many. Most recently, he was studying business to obtain his Oregon General Contractors license.
Benny met the love of his life, April at Cherrywood Village in 2003 where she was a temporary receptionist. They married on September 22nd, 2007 and were always inseparable, together raising 2 little boys. Benny was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed riding dirt bikes, snowboarding, camping and hunting. He loved the Seahawks and the Blazers, and never missed a game. Time spent with his sons and his younger brother’s (Joey and Luis) meant the world to him, and his hobbies are kept alive through them today. Everyone who met Benny loved him immediately, as he was the most kind, genuine and caring individual that you would ever meet. There was nothing he wouldn’t do for family or friends. Benny was the life of the party, always making people laugh with his stories- everyone was drawn to his vibrant laugh and outgoing personality. Just his smile could light up a room and make you feel at ease. His sudden passing has left a hole in everyone’s hearts that will never been filled. Benny is survived by his wife April, and his 2 sons Benjamin and Gage.
He will live forever in our memories as a gentle father, kind soul and our angel on earth. Until our next and happiest meeting in heaven, may he watch over us in spirit as he did in life.
