Beverly Ann Hess

September 18, 1946 — July 16, 2022

Beverly was born September 18, 1946 to Clarence and Edith Eggimann. She grew up in Tigard Oregon with her two sisters – Darlene (oldest) and Patty (youngest). She attended and graduated from Tigard High School and then Portland State University.
During college she worked at NAPCO where she met Gideon (Bub) Hess. They were married June 21, 1968. They had two children (Daughter) Lisa and (Son) Brian. She also worked at the local newspaper – Hillsboro Argus with some family members and friends.
Ultimately, she went to work at the Hillsboro School District and retired as a Secretary from Lenox Elementary School. She was there approximately 30 years.
She loved life and spending time with family and friends – Golfing, Family Reunions, Bunco gatherings, gardening and working in the yard, annual trips to Uncle Georges, Clamming and Camping at Barview Jetty, Fishing at Diamond Lake and relaxing in the river at Big Eddy. Also spending time with her two granddaughters – Cassidy and Saige. Pets have always been a special part of her life and the house was always a buzz with a dog and a cat or two!
The Holidays were special and you could always count on the house being decorated for each and every Holiday. Ask Bub…he was always tasked with getting boxes in and out of the attic for each seasonal event. She was an avid reader, loved to paint, and was always up for a game of Tick, Golf, Pinochle or Ten Thousand. At our recent Diamond Lake camping trip we mastered a new game called Quixx!
She also like to take trips. Some of the memorable trips included an Alaskan Cruise, Colorado, Disneyland, The Badlands, Mt. Rushmore, Black Hills and Yellowstone National Park.
When she was out and about there was never a Goodwill that she passed up. The search was always on for Home Interior Nik Naks. If you were with her and not in the mood for shopping it was best to try to distract her as you drove by (hoping she wouldn’t see it) or take a detour .
August was always the month Bev and Bub hosted the Annual Pig Roast at their home. Her berry pizza was always a hit and never lasted long!
Her door was always open and ready for company to stop by. There would always be snacks and drinks provided.
She always had a listening ear and would drop what she was doing for anyone who needed to talk. Growing up and right up to the end. If there was work to be done, she was always there to lend a helping hand. It brought everyone closer together!
Survived by Husband Bub, Daughter Lisa, Son Brian, Granddaughters Cassidy and Saige, Sister Patty.
