DR. BUEL L. LIMING JUNE 18, 1933 - MAY 26, 2014
Dr. Buel L. Liming, died at Tuality Community Hospital on May 26th, at the age of 80 years. He was born in Elkhart, Kansas, on June 18, 1933. He spent most of his growing up years in Southern, Calif. Attended the Los Angeles Baptist College and The Bible Institute of Los Angeles. He was ordained to the Gospel Ministry in 1961 here in Hillsboro, received his Doctorate Degree in Theology in 1983 from Dothan Theological Seminary in Dothan, Alabama.
He met his wife Eleanor (Herrold) in college, they were married in 1959 here in Hillsboro. They lived in Cornelius from 1961-1972; while working at Nobelcraft Cabinet Factory for 5 years. He was a full-time Baptist Evangelist for 11 1/2 years, he taught and preached the Word of God in many Churches all across the nation.
He pastored four churches: The Calvary Baptist Church in Hillsboro from 1961-1963; The Berean Baptist Church in Pella, Iowa from 1977-1981; The Oasis Baptist Church in Las Vegas, Nev., from 1981-1996; and The Navelencia Community Church in Reedley, Calif., from 1999-2003. He was an author of some 84 books concerning Bible related subjects and had a Bible Chart Ministry, where he designed over 1,000 Bible Charts, explaining the Word of God.
Preceding him in death was his parents and four brothers and three sisters, also a infant son in 1964.
Surviving are his four adult children: Anne Noriega, and Thomas Liming of Las Vegas; Charlotte Arrington of Bradenton, Florida and Naomi Dethmers of Knoxville, Tennessee. He had 17 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Buel loved to study, teach and preach the Word of God for over 60 years. He taught Systematic Theology for two years in a Bible Institute in Central California, while pastoring a church there.
His hobby was raising and training Homing Pigeons and showing several of his birds in Pigeon Shows, including the Washington County Fair and the Oregon State Fair.
He has written a book "Effective Methods of Racing Pigeons" and another book "The Bible Through The Ages." The family would be pleased to give these two books (free of charge) to all present at his services today.
Buel loved running, and celebrated his 80th birthday on the 4th of July last year, by running in a 5k (3.1 miles) in downtown Hillsboro, along with over eleven hundred others, a Cancer Fund race.
Funeral Service and burial will be held at Donelson Funeral Chapel & Fir Lawn Memorial Park on June 7th, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. in Hillsboro.
