Carol Evonne Ewing (Waterman) was born on April 3, 1944 in Forest Grove, Oregon to Denzil and Velma Ewing. She attended Dilley Elementary School and Forest Grove High School, graduating in 1962. Carol married Fred Waterman on May 4, 1963 in her parents' home in Dilley. The newlyweds settled in Hillsboro, Oregon for a brief time before relocating to Forest Grove.
Their son, Michael, was born on July 10, 1965. Carol stayed at home with Mike until he was 12 or 13, then went to work as a caregiver for Good Shepherd and then as a laborer for Rogers Organ. Eventually, Carol made her way to Hillsboro School District where she worked as a school nurse until she retired in 2006.
Carol loved spending time with her family, taking drives to the coast. She loved animals, especially her cat, Ash. She enjoyed playing pinochle. In her later years, Carol also enjoyed putting together puzzles.
Carol passed away on January 4, 2016. She was preceded in death by her parents, Denzil and Velma Ewing, and her sister, Elaine Ewing. Carol is survived by her husband, Fred; son, Mike; daughter in-law, Charless; granddaughter, Nikki; brother, Neal; as well as brothers and sister in-law and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at the Antioch Christian Fellowship at 10558 SW 35th Ave, Portland, OR 97219.
