Catherine Elizabeth Atkinson

Catherine Elizabeth Atkinson, 86, of Forest Grove, died June 17, 2012 in Forest Grove. She was the daughter of Edd Thomas Tanksley and Pansye Wyatt, Tanksley Bane.
Funeral Services will be Friday at 2:00 p.m. in Arcade Cemetery, with pastor Tim Gould officiating. Interment in the cemetery will follow. She had been in declining health for the past year.
Visitation will be from 10am to 5pm on Thursday, June 21, 2012, at Donelson-Fir Lawn Memorial Center, 1070 W. Main St., Hillsboro, OR 97123.
Catherine Atkinson was born Feb. 15, 1926 in Pittsylvania County, Va., and on Dec. 20, 1940, she married Charlie Grover Atkinson in Chatham, Va., and was husband and wife until his death in 1997. They moved to Forest Grove in 1988 to be near their children. She was a home maker and textile worker in her early years.
Survivors include, two sons; Wesley Atkinson, Forest Grove and Chuck Atkinson, Vernonia. Three grandsons, David Atkinson, Forest Grove, Michael Atkinson, Newberg and Steven Atkinson, North Carolina and eight great grandchildren.
