Longtime Hillsboro resident, Mr. Charles Gordon Marchesi, 76, passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at Tuality Healthcare Hospital in Hillsboro, Oregon.
Charles was born October 5, 1946 to Charles & Jeanne (Martin) Marchesi in Washington, PA where he was raised. He graduated from Washington High School and furthered his education by obtaining a Bachelor’s degree at Wilmington College. Charles was married to Mary (Kughn) in Washington, PA in 1971. They moved to San Diego, CA for fifteen years before making Hillsboro, Oregon their home in 1992. He had worked at US Bank for over 20 years until his retirement. Charles was a member of the Orenco Presbyterian Church serving as the Treasurer of the Deacon Board. He was an avid reader and loved history.
“Charlie always remained calm. You never had to worry about him being angry or disappointed with you. In his eyes if you shared a memory or a moment with him you were family and it stuck with him. He made sure to bring others together and to continue traditions which created some of the best memories for each and every one of us,” wrote the family.
Charles was preceded in death by his wife Mary (Kughn) Marchesi in 2019; parents, Charles & Jeanne Marchesi; and brother in-law, James Cole.
He is survived by his son, Gino “Nick” Marchesi of Beaverton, OR; grandson, Trey Marchesi and his mother Elizabeth Schwartz; grandsons, Gino Nicholas Marchesi & Christopher Andersson and granddaughters, Ryann Gianna Marchesi, Meghann “Andy” and Madison Andersson all of Beaverton, OR and their mother Melyssa Herrall; brother, Richard Marchesi of Spain; sister, Nancy Cole of Virginia Beach, VA; brother and sister in-law, Randall & Nancy Marchesi of Washington, PA.
A celebration of Charlie’s life will be held 3:00 p.m., Thursday May 4, 2023 at the Orenco Presbyterian Church, 6420 NE Oelrich Street, Hillsboro, OR 97124. Charles was laid to rest with his wife in a private family ceremony at the Fir Lawn Memorial Park in Hillsboro, Oregon.
