Chou Vang

It is with a heavy heart we share the passing of our father, Chou Vang (56), on May 11, 2023. Chou Vang was born on February 4, 1967, in Vientiane, Laos. He was the son of Khang Chue Vang and Plia Thao. In 1979, he and his family immigrated to the U.S. In 1984, he married Beckie Yiher Vang and had two children early in his life. The family made many moves across the country due to work related security. In 2000, the family moved to Oregon. Chou then had two additional children later in his life.

Chou was a loving, generous, and compassionate man who was both a father and mother to his children. He will be remembered for his unwavering strength, kindness, and courage throughout his life.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Beckie Vang in 2009; his mother, Plia Thao in 2004; his father, Khang Chue Vang in 1977; and several brothers and sisters before him.

He is survived by his four children, Jerry, Elizabeth, Jane, and Danniel. By his brothers and sisters, Tino Vang, Doua Thao, Lou Vang, Kristina Herr, and Madison Vang. By his step-father, Pang Lou Vang, step-mother, Chue Yang, step-brothers/sisters, Mong Vang, Ashley Vang, Mai Vang, Tracy Vang, Lisa Vang, Lue Vang, Ger Vang, Gina Vang, Roland Vang, Thao Vang, and Kiki Vang.
