Clarence Croeni, age 98, late of Hillsboro, passed away in his home on May 6, 2013. He was born to Julius and Mary Croeni on Dec. 14, 1914, on the farm near West Union where he lived for most of his life. Clarence was preceded in death by his wife and the love of his life, Ada Simcox Croeni; his granddaughter, Allysen Croeni; and grandson, Luke Adams. He is survived by his son, Bob and Patty Croeni; two daughters, Darlene and Ray Melvin, and Duella and Gary Williams; grandsons, Greg Forsythe, Shane Croeni, Stan Dale Tim and Lee Adams; 37 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren. Clarence farmed for many years and then he and Ada traveled extensively throughout the world. He served on the Washington County Agricultural Board; he was a longtime member of the Rock Creek Christian Center, he enjoyed fishing, rock hunting, hiking, Trail Blazer games and going out to eat with family and friends. A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m., Friday, May 10, 2013, at the Rock Creek Christian Center on Cornelius Pass Road in Hillsboro.
