Longtime Hillsboro resident, Mr. Clyde “Bud” Howe Harrop, 99, passed away Sunday, December 17, 2023 from cardiac arrest at his home in Hillsboro, Oregon.
Clyde was born August 10, 1924, to Clyde E. & Catherine J. (Bishop) Harrop in Seattle, WA. He entered the United States Army on April 14, 1943, serving our nation during WWII until he was honorably discharged January 17, 1946. Clyde moved to Hillsboro in 1962 and worked at Tektronix from 1961 to 1967 as an electronic sales and factory representative. He retired from radar electronics in 1992. Clyde was a member of the VFW Post 2666, Moose & Elks Lodge. He was also a member of the Tualatin Valley Community Church. Clyde enjoyed fishing, golf, and spending time with his family. He was very proud of his military service.
Clyde was preceded in death by his wife Thelma Harrop in 1997. He is survived by his daughters, Linda Hamilton of Puyallup, WA and Debra Morava of Central Point, OR; sons, Michael Harrop of Portland, OR and Kasey Harrop of Hillsboro, OR; seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 12:00 p.m., Monday, January 8, 2024, at Fir Lawn Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 1070 West Main Street, Hillsboro, OR 97123. Pastor Frank Clore will officiate. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 8, 2024 at Valley Memorial Park, 3929 SE Tualatin Valley Highway, Hillsboro, OR 97123. He will be laid to rest with full military honors.
