Daisy Lois Johnson
Daisy Lois Johnson, a resident of Hillsboro, Oregon, died on May 21, 2017 in Forest Grove. She was 98 years of age.
Lois was born on December 1, 1918 in Oakland, California and was the daughter of Herbert and Lois (Thurman) Cooley. She moved to Portland in her early teens where she graduated from Grant High School and was a live in housekeep for Ingrey Family.
On November 9, 1940, she married Milton (Bud) Johnson at the home of Homer and Katherine Ingrey in Portland, Oregon. The young couple lived in Portland until September 1949 when they moved to the house they built in Hillsboro. Lois worked as a waitress and in the mail room at Montgomery Ward during her lifetime. After moving to Hillsboro, she was a homemaker who cared for her home and her two daughters, Pattie and Robbie.
Lois had many hobbies. She enjoyed traveling, motorcycle rides, bowling and playing bingo. She was also a wonderful artist who enjoyed ceramics and painting. She truly found peace in painting after the passing of her husband and created many pieces that are cherished by many today. She was a member of the Junior League and the Hillsboro Elks were she had served as the President of the Ladies of the Elks.
Lois is survived by her daughters, Pattie and Robbie and her sisters, Mollie and Fran along with 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Her husband, Milton and her sisters Belva and Berta Lee all preceded her in death.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 from 9:00 am - 11:00 am with a funeral service on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at 12:00 pm all at Donelson Funeral Chapel. A committal service will be held at Valley Memorial Park. Donelson Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
