Lifelong Hillsboro resident, Mr. Dale Eugene Applebee, 69, passed away Friday, December 22, 2023, from cardiovascular disease at his home in Hillsboro, Oregon.
Dale was born January 4, 1954 to Milo Glen & Junetta Wanetta (Herrold) Applebee at the Tuality Hospital in Hillsboro, OR. He attended school until the 8th grade and worked for American Gutter Service, All Foreign Auto & Wrecking and West Coast Gutter until he retired. Dale enjoyed being an auto mechanic and smoking marijuana. He loved dogs and children he would give them a ride on his wheelchair
“Dale was a strong man. He loved fishing, smoking and watching Westerns or the movie ‘Friday.’ Dale loved to eat hearty home style cooking. He was a fun guy even after his stroke twenty years ago, when he lost his speech but was still able to cuss. We will miss him dearly,” wrote the family.
Dale is survived by his daughter and son in-law, Laura & Anthony Puhlman of Hillsboro, OR; brothers, Terry, Neal and David Applebee all of Hillsboro, OR; and former spouse, Amber Applebee.
A celebration of Dale’s life will be held 4:00 p.m. Saturday, January 6, 2024 at the Hillsboro Seventh Day Adventist Church, 367 NE Grant St. Hillsboro, OR 97123.
