Darlene Joyce Palmquist

Darlene Joyce Palmquist 84, passed away peacefully at her home Sept 12, 2020 following a brief illness.
Darlene was born 4-1-1936 in Cornelius Or to Henry and Olinda (Olga) Hoffman, the first of two children. She attended Cornelius Grade School. She married Thomas Burk Jr, resided in Cornelius and had 2 children. She spent her early career as a medical assistant for Dr. Willard Asbury in downtown Forest Grove and moved with the Drs. when they opened their practice together at the Maple St. Clinic. She eventually went on to an electronics career with Tektronix and then Instromedix until her retirement. She divorced Thomas but they remained close and later met Dennis Palmquist with whom she spent 14 wonderfully happy years living in Hillsboro until his untimely passing in 1994. Eventually she purchased a home from her Aunt at the Homestead Park in Forest Grove. She was a lifetime member of Emanual Lutheran Church in Cornelius and she enjoyed gardening, birds, canning, fishing, crochet and most of all her family and friends.
Darlene was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Thomas Burk, her sister Janet Mudd and her partner Dennis Palmquist. She is survived by her children Randy & Vonda Burk, Debbie & James Partlow, her grandchildren Torrey Partlow and Anja Begg and 3 great grandchildren.
Graveside interment will be private followed by an open celebration of life on Sept. 26th on Camino Dr Forest Grove OR at 2PM. Family and friends of the family are welcome.
