On October 7, 2017, David passed onto his eternal home in Portland, Oregon, leaving behind his wonderful wife, Kim (Sims) Smith, of 40 years; his mother and step father, Jackie (Russ) Denmark; special brothers, Bill Smith, Ken (Penny) Smith, Bob Sims (Dorothy); nieces and nephews, Jennifer Smith, Chris Smith, Kayla Poole, April Sims Isaac, Aaron Sims, Ashley Sims Seibel, Alisha Sims, and their families; step brothers, Paul and David Denmark.
David graduated from RHS in 1975 and Arizona Automotive Institute in 1976, and spent his working years in the automotive industry, working for Koble's Alignment and Brake Service, Lauren Young Tire Center and Industrial Tire Service.
At RHS, David played the French horn in the band, was on the swim team, and the Plymouth Trouble Shooting Team. He was very much an outdoors guy, loved to hunt and camp with family and ride his Harley Davidson around our beautiful country.
Our wonderful husband, son, brother, cousin, uncle and friend will be sorely missed by us and many who knew him.
There will be a Celebration of Life on Saturday, October 28, 2017, at First United Methodist Church in Roseburg, OR, at 3:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers you may wish to contribute to the charity of your choice, Dave's favorite organization, NRA or treat yourself to a steak dinner in his honor.
