Della Rae was the youngest of two children born to Arthur Ellsworth and Gladys Arabella Oakes. Her older brother, Jack Oakes preceded her in death. Ray and Della Rae were married on February 9th, 1952. They have two daughters, Lauri Davis and her husband, Mike and Kathy Seger and her husband, Jeff. Three grandsons, Scott Davis and his wife, Mary, Bryce Seger and his wife, Cara, and Chris Seger and his wife Kim and one granddaughter, Carrie Jackson and her fianc, Mike Tierney carry on the legacy of Della Rae and Ray's life. Their four great-grandsons are Carson and Luke Davis, Will Jackson and Tanner (Buster) Seger. They have one great-granddaughter, Kinley Seger.
Della Rae loved living in Hammond, OR and often wished she could have returned there. She also missed wintering in Yuma, AZ, traveling and play pinochle with their dear friends, the Knutsens and the Smalleys.
Mom loved the Portland Trailblazers and we were able to take her to a game on her 80th birthday.
Although Della Rae didn't speak for the last year or so of her life, her eyes often lit up when she smiled at her daughters, Jeff or photos of other family members or special caregivers in her life.
We want to especially thank Farmington Square and all of the special people who cared so much for mom and dad over these past 6 years. We have come to love many of the employees and residents as family! Thank you for following your special calling to care for our loved ones.
