Donna Rae Hurley passed away May 2, 2012, at Evergreen Care Center in Hillsboro, OR. She had been a long time resident of Harmony Guest Home. She had suffered from severe leg infections and exhaustion. Donna was born May 16, 1915, in Spokane, WA, to Ray and Nellie Whealey.
Donna graduated High School in 1933. She moved to La Grande, OR, in 1949, and later to Hillsboro in 1952 and lived there ever since. She married Gerald Baynton Hurley in 1939, in Sacramento, CA. Donna worked as a cook for the Masonic Home in Forest Grove. She was a member of the Unity Church. Donna earned a first degree in Reiki Healing. She was a student of A Course in Miracles. Donna took watercolor classes and a commercial art course. She enjoyed the opera and classical music. Donna enjoyed nature and camping. She was a philanthropic person. When health permitted she was politically active and spoke publicly against the first Iraq war.
Donna is survived by 2 sons, Bruce and Gerald Douglas Hurley; daughter Lorraine Bucknum; and 3 grandchildren, Seth Hurley, Paul Partridge, and Kindra Wicklund.
Inurnment has been held at Valley Memorial Park.
