Lura Doris Bloomer, a resident of Vancouver, Washington, died on March 18, 2017 in Vancouver. She was 98 years of age.
Doris was born on September 13, 1918 in Grandview, Washington and was the daughter of Thorton and Leone (Donaldson) Macy. She graduated from high school in Grandview and went on to attend college in Bellingham, Washington. She worked for Boeing in Seattle, Washington where she met her second husband, Dey A. Bloomer who preceded her in death in 2000.
She raised seven children, worked for a time at Techtronics and after retirement, she and her husband enjoyed travel and countless hours on the many lakes in the Pacific Northwest. She was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and was a strong advocate of exercise; "Move It of Lose It" became her mantra.
Doris is survived by her seven children, Linda, Douglas, D. Anne, Denise, Dey, Deyle and David and her step son, Dean along with six grand children, 7 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
A celebration of Doris' life will be on Friday, March 31, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Donelson Funeral Chapel. Inurnment will be at Willamette National Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Donelson Funeral Chapel.
