Doris May Dickenson, 84 also known to family & friends as "Granny" passed away May 9, 2011 due to illness. Born to Joseph & Sallie Shifflett on March 8, 1927 in Vinton, VA, the oldest of 3 children.
Doris married Lyle Dickenson on July 10th, 1965 who preceded her in death on Dec. 7, 1997.
Doris will be greatly missed by daughter Sharon & (Leroy) Evans, son Jerry (Peggy) Freeman, Patti (Joe) Gordon, Ray (Sue) Dickenson and Violet (Mike) wedlock. She is also survived by 27 grandchildren, 56 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
Doris was known to everyone she met as Granny. She enjoyed her crafts, crocheting bride dolls and made every child she knew a "Magic" wallet.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 13, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. at the North Plains Christian Church.
A graveside service will be on Saturday May 14th at 10:00 A.M. at the Burns Cemetery in Burns, Oregon for her final resting place.
