Earle Kenneth McLain
The service for Earle Kenneth McLain of Beaverton will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, July 24, 2017 at Fir Lawn Cemetery, Hillsboro. He passed away peacefully the morning of July 17, 2017 from causes related to old age . Earle was 99 years, and 6 days, having just celebrated his birthday.
Born July 11, 1918 at Watertown, Illinois, he grew up in California and moved from Los Angeles to Hillsboro in 1938. There he married Ethel Bella on April 29, 1939 and observed their 72nd Anniversary in 2011. Earle was a World War II veteran having proudly served in the U.S. Army.
Earle McLain was a General Contractor in the construction and logging industries, mostly in the Washington County area. He retired from the Portland Bureau of Public Works in 1980 where he worked for nine years.
Predeceasing him were twin sons John Arthur and Thomas Charles, and wife Ethel.
Survivors include: daughter Judith Lewis and husband (Nicholas Lewis) of Issaquah, WA, son Earle II and wife (Kathy Craft) of Beaverton, five grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter.
