Ellen Eunice Mann, a resident of Hillsboro, Oregon died on October 1, 2017 in Hillsboro. She was 97 years of age.
Ellen was born on March 7, 1920, in Eagle Creek, Oregon, to Oren and Orgina Ballou, one of nine children. She grew up in Estacada, Oregon. On March 8, 1938, she married Walter Mann in Vancouver, Washington and they had three children: Clifford, Dixie, and Marilyn. She worked as a homemaker and also found time to do berry picking and providing flowers to a local florist
Ellen enjoyed embroidery, making pot holders, participating in the Laurel Ladies Club, doing crossword puzzles (in pen!), volunteering at the senior center, and being a tremendous fan of the Portland Trailblazers! She was a member of Laurel Community Church where she taught Sunday School and served as the Sunday School Superintendant
Ellen is survived by her three children: Clifford Mann and wife Sandy; Dixie DeBoer and husband Del; and Marilyn Rupprecht and husband, Keith and nine grandchildren: Michelle Lewis, Angela Kargel, Nathan DeBoer, Rebecca Parris, Jonathan DeBoer, Katie Sander, Dorothy Garcia, Kevin Rupprecht, and Alexander Rupprecht along with great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter, and her granddaughter, Sharilyn DeBoer.
A family graveside service will be on Saturday, October 7, 2017, at 3:00 PM at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Laurel, followed by a public Memorial Service at 4:00 PM at Laurel Community Church. Donelson Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
