Evelyn Maria Van Domelen (Craven)

October 11, 1957 — March 28, 2017

Evelyn Maria Van Domelen left this earth on March 28, 2017 to join her heavenly family. Evelyn passed away while at her home following a battle with pancreatic cancer.

She was born in Inglewood, California on October 11, 1957. Evelyn moved with her family from California to Twin Falls, Idaho, at 3 years of age. She attended schools in Twin Falls as Evelyn Craven and graduated with honors from Twin Falls High School in 1975. Following a few visits to Oregon she decided to leave Idaho and move to the Portland area. She worked various jobs and met the love of her life, Paul Van Domelen. They were married in 1988. They lived in Hillsboro and raised their three sons. Evelyn felt her biggest accomplishment in life was being a stay at home wife and mother.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, John Taylor and Ruby Craven of Twin Falls, Idaho.
She is survived by her husband Paul Van Domelen. Sons: Albert (A.J.) Van Domelen; Sean Van Domelen (Monica Harvey, fiance); and Nicholas Van Domelen. Her brother, Gary (Joanna) Craven, her sister Valerie (Mac) Messman all of Twin Falls, Idaho. Brother-in-law Charles (Karen) Van Domelen, of Dundee Oregon. Sister-in-laws; Maxine (Marc) Cardinaux of Gaston, Oregon; Melissa (Larry) Goodwin of Colton Oregon. And many nieces and nephews.

Evelyn loved to quilt. Every year Evelyn and her sister would make a quilt for the Craven family Christmas drewing. Lots of love wrapped in warmth.

Evelyn was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod. She so wanted to express her appreciation for the many acts of kindness that has been extended to her and her family. Thank you to all who have made these last few months a little more bearable.
