Frances Louise VanBrabant, a resident of Portland, Oregon, died on April 19, 2017 in Portland. She was 80 years of age.
Frances was born on December 11, 1936 in Salem, Oregon and she was the daughter of Wesley and Alice (Hoard) Heath. As a child she moved to the Mid-West where she graduated from high school in Kansas City and attended Junior College. On August 26, 1956 she married Edward Frank VanBrabant at the Lutheran Church in Kansas City. They had 4 children.
The family later moved to California where Frances worked for various California School Districts. After returning to Oregon in 2003, she worked for the Hillsboro and Tigard Libraries and was a volunteer in the gift shop at St. Vincent Medical Center. She enjoyed puzzles, reading, walking, trips to the beach and spending time with her family.
Frances is survived by her children, Ed VanBrabant (wife Nicolette) of Germantown, Wisconsin, Kathy McGovern (husband Sean) of Newbury Park, California, Dan Van Brabant of Portland, Oregon and Wendy Salaz (husband Rudy) of Rancho Cucamonga, California. She also is survived by 11 grandchildren; Danielle, Kelly, E.J., Erin, Riley, Matthew, Elli, Luke, Ryan, Jessica and Samantha. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward, her 2 brothers and her sister.
