Francis Xavier Brungard, born August 2, 1930 - died November 28, 2015.
Francis' parents were John Brungard and Kreszenz Kerscher, who decided to migrate from the French/German "Elzas" region to the US back in 1931. During their initial visit to the USA prior to the family's permanent relocation, Francis was born onboard the French ship liner "Ile de France", returning from New York to Paris. His birth was officially registered in Paris France.
He received his first Holy Communion St. Catherine's Church, May 1942. Graduated from Central Catholic High School on June 1948 in Reading Pennsylvania. Frank served as a Private in the US Army at Fort Lee, Virginia 1952 to 1956, and was honorably discharged from the Army Reserves in 1962 at Fort Lawton, Washington.
Francis went by the nick name Frank, and spoke fluent German, he followed traditional Swiss music, and was an avid polka, waltz and ballroom dancer. He worked in a wood processing mill in St. Helens, Oregon over 10 years, while at the same time farming the family farm near Scholls, south of Hillsboro.
Cause of his death was natural with complications of Parkinson's disease which brought on grave physical limitations during the last 10 years of his life.
Francis is survived by his three children, Cecilia A. Brungard 55, John A. Brungard 53 and Ta Teirlynck 51, and four grand children Raymond Johnson 32, Dylan Bly 19, Rianna De Borde 13, and Nina Mace 12. He was preceded in death by his younger sister Mildred VanDomelen 1931-2011.
