Gail L. Oldham was born on May 18, 1949 in Boise, Idaho to Donald and LaVonne (Leetch) Oldham. He was educated and raised in the Boise-Meridian area all his life, attending elementary, middle and high school, graduating from Meridian High School in 1967. He attended Boise Jr. College, (now Boise State University) until his draft number was called, at which time he joined the Army Idaho National Guard serving from 1968 to 1972. After transferring to Oregon in 1972, he served with the Forest Grove National Guard until receiving an honorable discharge in 1976. Gail worked for several construction companies over the years prior to starting his own business in 1983, which he successfully ran until his recent illness forced him to stop working. He was involved in commercial, residential, remodeling and land development.
He met and married his wife Judith Altizer on Sept. 11, 1971 in Nampa, Idaho. Their marriage was blessed with two daughters, Tara (Oldham) LaZier (Shaun) and Mandi (Oldham) McGowan (Joshua), and three grandchildren Jamison, Savannah and Cameron LaZier. He is survived by his mother LaVonne Oldham of Boise, Idaho, one brother Raymond (Teresa) Oldham of Boise, Idaho and one sister Annette (Knox) Denny of Gaston, Oregon and numerous nieces and nephews.
His interest and hobbies included NASCAR, collector cars, fishing, snowmobiling and live music. He was a member of the Washington County Business Council, Mt. Hood Snowmobile Club, various bowling leagues and car clubs over the years. He and his wife enjoyed traveling, camping and spending time with family.
A graveside service will be held at 10 A.M., November 25, 2017 at Crescent Grove Cemetery, 9925 SW Greenburg Road in Tigard and a celebration of life will be at 11 A.M., November 25, 2017 at SW Baptist Church, 9100 SW 135th Avenue, Beaverton. The public is invited to both services and a visitation at Donelson Funeral Home, 1070 W. Main Street, Hillsboro, from 10 A.M. to 2 P.M., Friday, November 24, 2017.
