Longtime Hillsboro and Banks resident Gaye Stewart-Moore passed away at home September 14th at the age of 85. She was a longtime employee of the Hillsboro School District, and attended St. Matthews Church.
Known to her close family and friends as a wonderful cook, avid reader, newshound, personal shopper extraordinaire, and antique collector, she treasured family and friends above all else. Gaye is survived by her husband of only 9 months, Don Moore, daughters: Deborah Trombley (John) of West Fargo, ND; Cynthia Richard (Ryan) of Sequim, WA; Leslie LaHaie (Michael Mitchell) of Hillsboro, OR; Michelle Roberts of Milwaukee, OR, and sister Rosalie Kimberling (Mike) of Prairie City, OR, as well as 13 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
At Gaye's request, in lieu of a service, both her immediate family, and newly adopted Moore family, recently held her Celebration of Life at their homes. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Hillsboro Public Library or Providence Hospice.
