Gene Lee Russell

Gene passed away at Hillsboro Medical Center in Hillsboro Oregon on August 14, 2022, at the age of 66 of Cancer. He and his wife Julia would have celebrated their 38th wedding Anniversary on August 19, 2022. Originally from California, Gene and his wife Julia moved to Beaverton Oregon in 2006, and have been living in North Plains Oregon for the past 8 years.

Gene was born in Montebello California to Jackie and Corrine Russell on April 14, 1956. He is preceded in death by his siblings, Jack Lee Russell and Donna Lee Stockton.

Gene was a man with many talents. He worked as a Maintenance Supervisor for the past 16 years. He could fix just about anything. He was also very skilled in vehicle mechanics, plumbing, electrical and drywall. He was great at troubleshooting problems, and coming up with ways to solve them.
He loved animals and nature. His favorite pet was our 18 yr old cat named Newby that someone dumped at the side of the road when she was a kitten. He always took in animals that people would consider underdogs, or throwaways. He enjoyed camping, traveling, and cooking and spending time with his wife. He enjoyed his children and grandchildren whenever he got the chance to visit with them.

He loved, and leaves behind his wife Julia, his son Leon Gene Russell, and his son Corey J. Russell who looked up to, admired, and aspired to be like his father. Gene also loved his grandchildren, Maya J. Russell, Alexis Jaden Russell, and Maximus Anders Russell. He also leaves behind his younger Brother, Bill Lee Russell and his wife Sabra.

Special Note: Gene was my husband, the love of my life, and my best friend for 40 years. I will miss his very quick wit and the way he could make me laugh. I will miss his guidance, and his way of comforting and protecting me. Words cannot express enough the void he left in our hearts. My only solace is the promise that Jehovah will remember him in the resurrection.
