George G. Meyers, Sr. 91, died Thursday , June 23, 2011 at his Hillsboro home of cancer.
A Memorial Services will be held Saturday July 2, at 2:00 P.M. at Hillsboro United Methodist Church.
Mr. Meyers was born on February 13, 1920. in Deer Park WA.
The son of Fred and Ethel Vance Meyers. He was raised and educated in Hood River, OR. Graduating from Hood River High School in 1942.
George served in the Navy. After the service he went to business school in Portland at the Northwest School of Commerce.
He enjoyed fishing, playing cards, growing fresh produce, and his family.
George married Theora Starkey in The Dalles, OR on September 08, 1946. They first lived in Vanport WA. Later they moved to The Dalles.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Linda.
George is survived by his wife, Theora; daughters Becky Snyder (John), Jill Prince (Dennis); son George Jr. (Barrie). Grand children : Nicole Bruce, Robbert Warner, Amie Yeary Reynoso, Todd Snyder, Renee Hall, Monica Prince, Laura Berning, Ben Prince, Alex Prince, Aaron Meyers, Kyle Meyers, and six great-grandchildren.
