Gordon David Gray, 73, passed away peacefully on Thursday October 27, 2022 in Hillsboro, OR. Gordon was a long time member of the Hillsboro Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Gordon was born in Porterville California to Orville and Bernice Gray. Gordon grew up in the San Francisco Bay area where he graduated from Pleasant Hill High School (Pleasant Hill, Ca) in 1966. Gordon served a Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints from 1971 until 1973 in the Kentucky/Tennessee Mission. Following his mission he attended Utah Valley University where he received an associates degree in Technical Electronics. While in Utah he met and married his wife, Coleen. Together they moved to Oregon in 1978. Gordon worked for Tektronix as an electronics technician from 1978 until his retirement in 2011.
Gordon was a man of many talents and loved working with his hands. His favorite hobbies included fishing, camping and music. Gordon played the Clarinet and was often found at the piano playing music for fun. In addition to spending time outdoors, Gordon loved to read and some of his favorite things to research included history and computer science. He enjoyed his later years spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Gordon is preceded in death by his parents Orville and Bernice Gray. He is survived by his Wife of 47 years, Coleen (Hayes) Gray. He is also survived by his Brothers Ian (DJ) Gray and Merrill (Linda) Gray and his Daughters Lindsay (Vernon) Pierce, Danielle Gray and Alexis Gray and 9 Grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Monday November 7, 2022, at Fir Lawn Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 1070 West Main Street, Hillsboro, OR 97123. Public Viewing will be at 11:30 am and will be followed by Chapel Services at 12:00 pm. Graveside Services will immediately follow. Gordon will be laid to rest near his Parents at the Fir Lawn Memorial Park.
