Gwendolyn Archer

July 28, 1930 — March 3, 2021

Gwendolyn Foster Allison Archer passed away on March 3, 2021, at the age of 90.



She was the oldest child born to Robert Benjamin and Sarah Emiline (Sadie) Foster on July 28, 1930, in Sparkman, Arkansas. After moving around the country, the Foster family settled back in Sparkman where Gwen graduated from High School in 1948.

In 1948, she married her sweetheart, Raymond Earl Allison, in Dalark, Arkansas.  In 1951, after the birth of their first two children, the family moved to Longview, Washington, where they made a home on Coal Creek Road. The couple divorced in 1960 and Gwen later moved to Oregon with her children.



May 6, 1976, she married Edward Lewis Archer in Longview. They settled in Hillsboro and were happily married for 28 years until Ed's death in 2004.



Family included; her two sisters: Marlynn Bell and Donna Albrecht; six children: Elaine, Robert, Ramona, Steven, Tracy and Mark and step daughter, Lisa.  She welcomed 19 grandchildren, 44 great- grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter.



Gwen loved to cook, entertain, read, travel and always kept a dog at her side.  She was preceded in death by both of her husbands, her son Robert, and three of her great-grand-children. She died in Hillsboro after a long battle with cancer.
