Helen Gertrude (Stumper) Barth of Forest Grove, peacefully passed away with her loved ones by her side on October 4, 2021 at the age of 98.
Helen was born August 22, 1923 in Mandan, North Dakota. Helen is the youngest of Katherine and John Stumper's 13 children. Helen was raised and educated in Regent, North Dakota.
Helen met the love of her life Floyd Barth in 1914 and they wed on August 25, 1941 just 3 days after her 18th birthday. They were married for 48 years until his passing on November 11, 1989.
Helen and Floyd lived in Mott, North Dakota until 1949 when they moved to Gaston, Oregon then to Bothell, Washington. During that time they raised a family having 8 children and then moving back to Oregon in 1981.
Helen had a loved for gardening and her yard was always beautiful with colorful flowers and delicious veggies. She loved playing Skip-O with family and loved solitaire and putting puzzles together. You could always find Helen in the kitchen cooking up something delicious for her family from her famous Shoop Noodles to her homemade noodles or her famous yearly batch of Sauerkraut.
Helen's love for her family was never-ending, her dedication to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren will be deeply missed.
Helen is preceded in death by her mother, father, all of her brother's and sisters, her husband Floyd, sons Calvin, Raymond and Terry as well as her grandson Jason.
Helen is survived by her son and daughter in law Floyd and Tina Barth of Forest Grove, OR. Daughter and son in law Katherine and Richard Ellis of Edmonds, Washington. Daughter and son in law Doretta and Terry Clark of Gaston, OR. Daughter Cynthia Schermerhorn of Forest Grove, OR. Son and daughter in law Martin and Rae Anne Barth of Salem, OR. Her 17 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed.
