Helen Josephine Vandehey Rogers
Helen was born at the farm house on Feb 20th 1925 to Ray and Nellie Vandehey of Kansas city Oregon.
She was the sister to Maurice, Ruth, Ralph, Marion and Joan. Helen also had a twin named Harold who passed away after birth. Helen grew up on a dairy farm but she was not too fond of milking cows or cleaning stalls. You could always find Helen humming some tune during the day. Helen Married Melvin Rogers Aug 27th 1942 t St Francis Catholic Church in Roy Oregon. They went on to have six children, Ron, David, Mike, Debbie, Jill and Jerry.
They had 15 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and 9 great, great grandchildren.
Helen had a love for the beach probably because her parents took her there when she was a child. The love of Rockaway beach has been passed down through the generations.
Helen worked in the office supply business during her work career, and was a member of the Alter Society at St Matthew Church for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Melvin and Brothers Maurice and Harold.
There will be a viewing at Donelson Mortuary on Wed Fab 10th from 10-3:00pm at 1070 W Main street.
On Thursday Feb 11th there will a Rosary at 10:30 and Mass/service at 11:00 with a luncheon following at St Matthews at 447 Se 3rd Hillsboro Oregon.
There are so many things to say but the most important is how loving and kind their mother was to everyone. Everyone who met Helen said how sweet she was and she always had a smile for you no matter how she was feeling
