Bob Naylor, age 85, of Hillsboro, OR, passed away at his home with his family by his side Dec. 12, 2012. He was born April 12, 1927, in Omaha, Nebraska, to James and Amanda Naylor. Bob moved with his family to Hillsboro, OR, in 1943.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm, Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012, at Donelson-Fir Lawn Memorial Center, 1070 W. Main St., Hillsboro, OR 97123. Interment will be at Fir Lawn Memorial Park, Hillsboro, OR.
Bob attended Hillsboro high school. Bob and his twin brother Dick joined the Merchant Marines after this Bob was drafted and served in Japan with the Army Paratroopers. He was a carpenter and was a member of the Local Carpenters Union. When he retired he was a superintendent for Braun Construction in Portland, OR. Bob was a lifetime member of the Hillsboro Elk's Lodge. He enjoyed ballroom dancing, motorcycles, and had a special passion for NASCAR Racing. Bob was the 12th of 13 children. He is survived by 2 siblings, his twin brother Richard "Dick" and wife Elsie Naylor of Forest Grove and his sister Pauline Hackett of San Diego, CA. He is preceded in death by his son Chris, who passed away in infancy.
Bob is survived by his wife of over 47 years, Georgia; 2 sons from his first marriage, John Naylor of Astoria, OR, and Randy Naylor of North Plains, OR; 5 step-children, Don Hoffee, John Hoffee, Shirley Rogers, Judy Ohler, and Janie Brown; 4 step-children by a previous marriage; 20 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
