Howard George Saxton,age 86, passed away onJuly 11, 2014in Tuality Hospital, the same hospital where hewas born onApril 1st,1928, to George D. Saxton andNina Irene (Napper) Saxton.
Howardgrew up inWashington County, Oregon and never lived more than 18 miles from where he was born. Hegraduated fromForest Grove High School in Forest Grove, Oregon in 1946. During high school he worked for The Carnation Cannery followed by several other jobs before finding his true passion in salvage. In 1961, Howard purchased a working farm in Gales Creek, eventually turning it into a very successful auto salvage yard for 20 years where he raised his family.HowardmarriedHelen Mae Yardley inJuly of 1949inCornelius, Oregon. They were happily married raising four children for41years until her passing in 1990.

married for16years until her passing in 2007.HowardmarriedFrances S. DoserinJune of 2007inHillsboro, Oregon. They were happily married for7years. Howardwas a beloved member ofNew Life Baptist Church, serving faithfully as a Life Group teacher and deacon for approximately 9 years. Howardenjoyed attending auctions, garage sales, finding treasures in salvage and scrap metals. Heloved to garden, hunt, travel and worked hard at maintaining many close friendships throughout the years. Howard was diligent to remember
all the special occasions of those he loved, sending cards to show he cared and frequently calling to share in their lives.Howardwas preceded in death byhis parents, George and Nina Saxton; and 3 sisters Loraine,
Frances and Margie. Howard is survived byhiswifeFrancesof Hillsboro, Oregon;3 sons; David (Debbie) Saxton of Meeker, Colorado, Dale Saxton of Clackamas, Oregon & Steven (Loyce) Saxton of Summerville,
Oregon; 1 daughter Sandi Diehl of La Pine, Oregon; 2 step-daughters Debbie Flick of Arlington, Washington and Joyce Moody of Hillsboro, Oregon; 1 sister Doral (Larry) Durette of Otis, Oregon;9grandchildrenand 8 great-grandchildren.A public viewing will be held from 10 am to 4 pm on July 18th at Donaldson's Mortuary, 1070 West Main Street, Hillsboro, OR, 97123 Phone: (503) 640-2277
Howard's memorial service will be held at New Life Baptist Church, 3440 E. Main, Hillsboro,
Oregonat10 am on July 19th followed by a walk thru viewing and the Graveside Service atMountain
View Memorial Gardens, 499 Watercrest Road, Forest Grove, Oregon.
The family will be greeting friends and relatives during the reception starting from 1 pm, at New Life
Baptist Church, following graveside services.Flower Deliveries accepted at New Life Baptist Church between 8 - 10 am Saturday July 19th.
