Jack Maloney

June 2, 1951 — February 15, 2015

Jack Maloney passed away on Sunday February 15th with his wife, Cheryl, by his side.
A memorial celebration will be held at 1:30 pm on Saturday February 21st at Cornell Estates Retirement Home. 1005 NE 17th Ave in Hillsboro, Oregon.

Jack, (John J.) was born on June 2, 1951 in Youngstown Ohio. He married Cheryl in May 1979 and they would have celebrated their 36th anniversary this year. Jack & Cheryl were inseparable and felt blessed for every day they had together.

Jack's daughter, Shelly Milvet, meant the world to him. The love that he has for her transcends time & space.

He is Founding President of the Orenco Photography Club in Hillsboro. His passion for photography came from a deep respect for this planet and all of its inhabitants. He believed that through photography people could gain respect for nature thus encouraging them to preserve it for future generations. Jack loved working with other photographers, together exploring their creativity, and encouraging each other to see the world from fresh perspectives. He was grateful for his friends in the Orenco Photography Club. They were a great source of joy for him.

Jack's courage & grace throughout his life and especially during his health journey inspired those who knew him and witnessed his resilience.

Jack is survived by his wife, Cheryl and daughter Shelly Milvet of Mogadore, Ohio. Grandchildren, Amber Durkin, Jake Amlotte & Dalton Amlotte. He was preceded in death by his father Leo A. Maloney Sr., brother Leo A. Maloney Jr. and sisters Nancy Massie and Cheri Wallace.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations in Jack's name to either the National Park Service at http://www.nps.gov/getinvolved/donate.htm or to the Mederi Foundation. http://mederifoundation.org/ . The Mederi Center for Natural Healing is the clinic that provided Jack with an incredible boost to his health in these last few months
