James David Person Sr.
James passed away at his home on Saturday, February 5, 2011. He was born May 4, 1932, in Clatskanie, Oregon, to August and Mae Person.
A Celebration of Life service followed by a potluck will held at 4:00 pm, Friday, February 11, 2011, at the Cornelius Community Church, 860 N. Adair St., Cornelius, OR 97113. Private interment will be held at the Murray Hill Cemetery in Clatskanie, Oregon.
James was raised on the family farm in Cherry Grove, Oregon (part of Gaston). He was a graduate of Gaston High School in 1950. He worked for the Stimson Lumber Company until his retirement in 1995, and the family farm for most of his life. He married Martha Jane Keeney on January 19, 1973, in Cherry Grove, OR. She passed away May 16, 2009. He is also preceded in death by his son, John Bassir.
James is survived by his son, James Jr. & Tamalee Person of Gaston, OR; his daughter, Dr. Maryam Bassir & Mosaddeque Reza of Unakleet, AK; his brother Paul Tornblad of Oregon City, OR; 5 grandchildren, Wesley, Christopher, Amelia, & Jocelyn Person, Ian Bassir.
