Jane Ann Kent

Janie was born on September 4, 1946 in Hillsboro, Oregon to Venita and Dillard Kent. She grew up in North Plains and attended North Plains schools. She went on to study Electrical Engineering at Portland Community College. She lived in Hillsboro and the surrounding areas her entire life.
She was a hard and dedicated worker all her life. She started work as a child picking strawberries and working in the fields. In her later teen years she was a caregiver for her grandfather. She then became a caregiver for a disabled cousin and her family. She worked at Birdseye Cannery until 1973, when she went to work for Tektronics, in Quality Control, until 1992. From 1992 to 1996 she worked at Unitrek as an Extruder Operator. In 1996 she joined the manufacturing team at Nike, where she worked until her death.
She was an avid collector of antiques and thrift store finds. She loved interior decorating, flower arranging, and going to and collecting movies. She was also the photographer of the family for various special occasions such as weddings, births, birthdays and family reunions.
Janie was a kind and compassionate person who was loved dearly by all who knew her. She was a philanthropist who gave generously of her time and money to many organizations including The Humane Society, PETA, The Oregon Food Bank, Wounded Warriors and many others.
Her kindness extending to various animals that she adopted over the years. Muffin, Shorty, Cleo, Pearl, Tommy, Molly and Dolly were her fur babies who she loved like her own children.
She was a lifelong member of The Church of Christ in Forest Grove where she felt at home.
