Jens Joseph Robinson

Jens Joseph Robinson, age 74, passed away July 16, 2011, at his home with his family by his side. He was born to James Joseph Magnus Robinson and Gladys Evelyn Robinson on January 5, 1939, in Forest Grove, OR.
A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, July 23, 2011, at St. Edward Catholic Church, 10990 NW 313 th Ave., North Plains, OR 97133
Jens came from a long line of educators. His uncle Leo Robinson was president of Gonzaga University, his aunt Sister Margaret was President of Marylhurst College, and his father James Robinson was Principal at Verboort and Superintendent of Schools at Nehakanie.
Jens followed in their footsteps and began his career in teaching at Nehakanie High School in 1962. He then went back to school for a doctorate in statistics. On completion of his degree he became head of the psychology department at Gonzaga University. He left Gonzaga to study administration and became Superintendent of Schools in Woodburn, OR, and later Superintendent of Schools in McMinnville, OR, and Dean of Education at Easter Oregon State University.
At retirement Jens moved to North Plains, OR, to become a Kiwi farmer with his daughter Jaymi Yazzolino. Jens was an avid gun collector, fisherman, hunter, and computer nut.
He is survived by his wife, Kathryn; 5 children, Jodi Litterell of Gold Beach, OR, Jaymi Yazzolino of North Plains, OR, Jini Karras of Vancouver, WA, Jared Robinson of Portland, OR, and Josie Robinson of North Plains, OR.
