Jewell Marie Asay passed away March 9, 2016 at the Hawthorne House in Forest Grove, Oregon.
She was born on September 11, 1922 in Superior, Wisconsin to William and Norma Wilson. The family moved to Portland, Oregon in 1937 and completed her education at Grant High School.
She married Hal Asay in 1942 and they had three daughters.
They spent their married life in Portland, Hillsboro and Forest Grove.
She retired from Stimson Lumber after 18 years.
Jewell was active in the LDS church and enjoyed genealogy and many other church activities.
She was an avid reader, quilter, expert knitter and loved music of all kinds.
She loved spending time with her family and the company of many friends.
Her family wishes to express appreciation to the Hawthorne House for the respectful and loving care she received, as well as the gracious welcome that always awaited family and friends who visited her there.
Jewell is survived by her three daughters, Judith Capili, Carole (Keith) Dunn, and Barbara Korpi. She also leaves five grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and one great-great grandson.
She was preceded in death by her husband Hal, her parents, one sister and two brothers.
Her wishes will be met with a private family graveside service.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to a charity of choice.
