Jewell Boland

Longtime Hillsboro, Oregon resident Jewell Boland, 89, passed away January 6, 2023 from COPD at the Tuality Healthcare Hospital in Hillsboro, OR.

Jewell was born March 10, 1933 to Joe E. & Goldie (Martin) Johnson in Elaine, Arkansas. She attended school until the 8th grade. Jewell married Dale S. Pierce in 1951 in Brooks, OR Jewell was taught early on about hard work, it was a good thing along with her nine brothers and sisters who travelled all over the United States working orchard cotton fields. Jewell married Ronald Boland in 1983 until his passing in 1988. She worked as a medical driver in the 1970’s. Jewell enjoyed cooking and preparing great Southern food. She was a member of the Assembly of God church for her entire life.

“Mom loved serving the Lord and she spent a lot of time in church in fellowship with the other members, singing and worshiping the Lord. One of our best examples Mom gave us was salvation, hard work and lots of love. She will be greatly missed and loved, till we all meet again in the great by and by.” wrote the family.

Jewell is survived by her children, John L. Pierce, Debbie J. Trottier and Dale A. Pierce. She has 34 grandbabies, great-grandbabies and great-great-grandbabies. She also leaves behind four siblings, Linda Gather, Joyce Walker, James & Tommy Johnson.

Memorial services will be held 1:00 p.m., Saturday, June 24, 2023 at the Reedville Presbyterian Church, 2785 SW 209th Ave., Aloha, OR 97006. Pastor Ronald Turner will officiate.
