Ken passed away at age 86, due to complications from pneumonia, at home with his family by his side, in Hillsboro. His loving wife of 61 years, Donna Marie Folven, preceded him in death in 2009.Ken, originally from Minneapolis, left home at age 17 to join the U.S. Navy. He served aboard the U.S.S. Belleau Wood aircraft carrier and saw combat in the Pacific Theater in WWII. He met and married Donna in Alameda, Calif. They lived and raised five children together in the city of Santa Clara, Calif., for nearly 40 years prior to retiring in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. Ken worked for many years in construction with the local 270 HOD Carrier's Union. He finally retired from IBM.Some of Ken's favorite hobbies included being a member of the San Jose Drums and Feathers group who sang and drummed at various Native American Indian Pow-Wows throughout the greater San Francisco Bay Area, watching live golf tournaments on his big screen television and playing slot machines at various casinos.Ken leaves behind five children; two sons-in-law; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother; sister; and loving dog, Gracie.
