Joseph (Joe) Sticka, age 96, passed away on December 2, 2019. He was born in Belt, Montana, the youngest of ten children, and moved to Oregon with his family in 1934.
He graduated from Hillsboro High School and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, participating in the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign.
Joe retired from Portland General Electric Company in 1985 after 35 years of service.
Joe and his wife, Janice, raised three children together, and they are loving grandparents to six grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. They recently celebrated their 71st wedding anniversary on November 21, 2019.
Joe’s greatest passion was restoring his 1941 Willys pick-up and showing it at local car shows where he won many awards. For many years, he enjoyed driving his pick-up in the annual 4th of July parade in Hillsboro. Joe took trips with Janice in their motor home, traveling throughout the western United States and visiting the beautiful national parks there. He also enjoyed fishing for trout in the lakes of Central and Eastern Oregon.
