Joseph Allen Walker

October 23, 1938 — March 2, 2025

Joe, 86, was born in Isbell, Alabama to Harry and Annie Walker. He passed away surrounded by his family.

After graduating from Russellville High School and Auburn University, he embarked on a career in building construction management.

Joe Walker's 50 + year construction career inherently possessed a rare combination of analytical aptitude for industry knowledge, means and methods, in addition to his passion for teamwork and lifting up others to reach their full potential as fellow project team members. Project after project, Joe's unwavering attitude and efforts developed the necessary framework and teamwork required for construction quality, safety, schedule, financial success and satisfaction for all involved.

Joe and Mary settled in Hillsboro, Oregon 20 years ago. They joined the Hillsboro United Methodist Church and the Tualitin Valley Garden Club where they made many wonderful friends. They built close ties with neighbors, loved to travel and spent a lot of time in the garden.

Fiercely dedicated to his family, Joe is survived by his wife Mary, daughter Leigh Ann, and son Joe Jr. Joe was affectionately known as Papa Joe to his four grandsons - all strong and handsome, of course - and 5 lovely great grandchildren.

There will be a celebration of his life at Rood Bridge Park River House on March 19 from 1 pm to 3 pm. Please bring stories of Joe to share.
