Juanita Mae Adamson

Juanita Mae Adamson, a resident of the Hillsboro community died Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at her home surrounded by her family. Memorial Services will be held Saturday, October 2, 2010 at 1:00 PM at the Church Of the Nazarene of Hillsboro, 1390 NE 21st Avenue, Hillsboro, with Pastor Kevin Donnelly officiating. Private Cremation Rites have been held. Juanita Mae Adamson was born August 2, 1934 in Raymond, Washington to the late Thomas and Hulda (McQueer) Gardner. She attended grade school in Prescott, Wa for several years then moved with her family to Cherry Grove, Oregon. Juanita attended Forest Grove High School where she was a majorette. She marched in the Junior Rose Parade and won First Place. Juanita "Blondie," as she was called by her family, was united in marriage to Paul Adamson on November 15, 1949 in Vancouver, Washington. They raised three sons and celebrated just short of sixty-one years of life together. As a young mother raising three boys she worked part time at the Forest Grove Theater and at the Tip Top Caf. The boys would stop in for treats after school on their way home. As the boys got older, Juanita worked at Tektronix for more than ten years. She was very active at the boys' school sporting events. Among her personal interests she enjoyed traveling. The family went to Disneyland as well as several trips to Hawaii. She was active in her church having served as the leader of the Women's Ministry. They produced a cookbook and a Journey Through Christmas. Juanita was preceded in death by two sons, Mark and Robert Adamson. Survivors include her husband, Paul, son and daughter in law, Thomas and Susie Adamson of Hillsboro, two sisters, Laverna Reed and Larenna Cameron both of Phoenix, Az. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and several cousins. The family suggests that remembrances may be contributions made to Hospice of Washington County in her memory.
