Kenneth Lloyd Mann

Kenneth L. Mann, 85, long time resident of Gales Creek, Oregon, died in his home, November 21, 2019.
Kenneth was born in Livingston, Montana on January 16, 1934 to Lewis and Dorothy Mann, the fourth child of nine.
He spent his younger years growing up in the beautiful land of mid-western Montana.  He was formally educated through the eight grade and later earned his GED while in the Air Force.
He joined the Air Force in December, 1952, served in the Korean War as a airplane mechanic and received an honorable discharge in December 1956.  While he was serving his country, he met and married his love, Patsy, on July 11, 1953 in Amarillo, Texas.  After his discharge, Kenneth and Patsy returned to Montana and started raising their family.  In 1962, Kenneth packed up his family and moved west to Oregon, settling down in the small farming community of Gales Creek.
Kenneth made his living by logging and driving trucks.  In the late 1960's he built his own portable saw mill.  By the mid 1970's he started his own trucking company and ran long haul across the country.  In his later years he returned to hauling logs and retired at the age of 78.
Kenneth had an entertainer's heart.  He entertained his family and friends with songs, limericks, tall tales and the like.  He loved to eat and he loved to dance.  To his family he was bigger than life and adored by each and everyone of them.
Kenneth and Patsy were married 66 years and had four children, eleven grandchildren, and fifteen great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his two sons, Kenneth Brian Mann and Rodney R. Mann; and great grandson Jacob Christian Sperl.  Survivors include his wife Patsy; daughters, Charlotte Gilbert of Gaston, OR and Carrie Brown of Gaston, OR; his eleven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
