Kimberli Mae Baiju passed away on October 4th, 2020 in Hillsboro, Oregon from complications of Friedreich’s Ataxia. She was born on August 5th 1976 to Rod Parrish and Joyce Parrish (Nash) in Hugo, Colorado. Kimberli grew up in Colorado, Arizona, Wyoming, Nevada, Utah and Pennsylvania before returning to Colorado as a teenager. She graduated from Kit Carson High School in 1994. Kim helped her mother with the Parrish Care Center, an assisted care facility, in Kit Carson.
Kimberli married Dr. Baiju Abdulla on April 23, 2003. They lived in Flagler, Colorado before moving to Arizona, California and then back to Colorado. Despite a disease that kept her in a wheelchair for most of her life, she gave birth to four children. Kim would not let her disabilities keep her from a normal life. She raised her children from a wheelchair, organizing children’s chores, school schedules and meal preparations and so much more. With the assistance from nanny’s, she managed to run a household with precision, style and grace.
Kimberli was a world traveler and saw many of the world’s finest destinations. She went to Europe several times visiting the United Kingdom, Norway, Scotland and various other countries. Kim visited India, her husband’s native land, several times as well, passing through other countries in order to get there. In all her travels, she managed to keep the trip and children organized and settled.
Every year the family would take road trips to see the United States. This last year they explored the Pacific Northwest as well as the State of Utah. Kim found that she could breath better while visiting Portland, Oregon and after some family discussion, she and her husband decided to relocate to Oregon.
The family had been in Oregon just a month before Kim passed from this life into eternity. Kim is survived by her husband, Dr. Baiju Abdulla of Hillsboro, Oregon, 4 children, Marissa Harris of Karvel, Colorado, Gabriella Baiju, Rodney Baiju and Haleema Baiju, all of Hillsboro, Oregon. Mother, Joyce Nash and husband Jim Nash of Falcon, Colorado, in-laws Dr. and Mrs. Abdulla in India, and Laiju and Dr Sadik and kids in Dubai, sister, Darlene Parrish of Rawlins, Wyoming, sister, Marcella Mathill and husband Rod Mathill of Eastonville, Wyoming. Brother, Shawn Parrish and wife Shannon Parrish of Falcon, Colorado. Kim had numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Kimberli’s life is now full and complete. She has fought the good fight and leaves a wonderful legacy. Her beautiful children, her zest for life, her tenacity and resolve has inspired us all. Despite all the challenges she endured throughout her life, she always kept her beautiful smile and a great sense of humor, Kim is now gone from us physically but will remain in our hearts forever.
