Leslie Ellen Seaton

Longtime Hillsboro resident. Mrs. Leslie Ellen Seaton, 65, passed away unexpectedly on Friday February 24, 2023 at the Hillsboro Medical Center in Hillsboro, Oregon.

Leslie was born April 26, 1957, to Arthur Clinton & Ruth Ellen (Whipps) Morris in Los Angeles, California. She moved to Eugene, Oregon in 1966 and attended the Churchill High School in Eugene, Oregon graduating in the class of 1975. Leslie then moved to Hillsboro in 1984 where she has resided ever since.

Leslie first met her husband, Sonny, as a teenager but a relationship didn’t develop until after 1978 when he moved to Oregon, and they became inseparable for the next 45 years. Leslie worked while Sonny pursued his education at the University of Oregon and they married in 1983 in Eugene after his graduation. It wasn't long before the family expanded with the arrival of their sons: Trace, in 1985, followed by Collin in 1990.

She loved trailer camping with family at the Oregon coast, working around the yard with her roses and flowers, and keeping the hummingbirds fed. She came from humble beginnings and appreciated creating a beautiful space; Leslie kept an immaculate house: everything had a place, and everything in place. She loved decorating for the holidays, and hosting family.

Over the years, her interests were focused on the task at hand, her children, her extended family, and friends. She had a gracious heart, would help in any way she could. She was a worker, no job to small. All were tackled with pride, enthusiasm, with no thought to acknowledgement or praise. Just the self-satisfaction of job well done.

Leslie was preceded in death by her father, Arthur C. Morris and mother, Ruth E. Clark.

She is survived by her husband, Walter “Sonny” Lawrence Seaton, Jr. of Hillsboro, OR; sons, Walter “Trace” Lawrence Seaton III of Seattle, WA and Collin Alexander Seaton of Portland, OR; sister, Denise Medlock of Everett, WA; and brothers, Brian Morris of Forest Grove, OR, Arthur & David Morris both of Springfield, OR.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Friday, March 10, 2023 at Fir Lawn Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 1070 West Main Street, Hillsboro, OR 97123. A celebration of Leslie’s life will be held 1:30 p.m. Friday, March 10, 2023 at the Hidden Creek Community Center, 5100 NE Hidden Creek Drive, Hillsboro, OR 97124. Leslie will be laid to rest at Willamette National Cemetery in a private ceremony by the family.
