Hillsboro resident, Mr. Lewis Olen Walker, 86 passed away Thursday, July 7, 2022 at his home in Hillsboro, Oregon.
Lewis was born June 7, 1936 in Little Rock, Arkansas to William Lewis & Novella (Crenshaw) Walker. The family moved to Washington state where he was raised and then graduated from Pateros High School. He met Valorus Nellie (McGarr) in high school and they were married on January 20, 1955 in Coeur D’Alene, ID remaining married until her passing in 2006. Lewis entered the U.S. Air Force September 22, 1954 in Spokane, WA and served until March 21, 1958 when he was honorably discharged and moved back to Washington state. He worked on dams until 1963 when they moved to Oregon where he worked as a heavy equipment operator for Power Construction. Lewis enjoyed gardening, traveling, working in his yard, collectibles and WWII war planes.
Lewis is survived by his daughters, Elizabeth A. Walker of Hillsboro, OR and Debra L. Dickey of Sweet Home, OR; granddaughter, Samantha L. Walker of Hillsboro, OR; grandson, Jason Reece of Hillsboro, OR; and sisters, Delores Davis of Manney, LA and Elaine Webster of Kingman, AZ.
A committal ceremony will be held 1:00 p.m., Thursday July 21, 2022 at Fir Lawn Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 1070 West Main Street, Hillsboro, OR 97123. Military honors will be performed and he will be united with Valorus. A celebration of his life will immediately follow the services.
