Lucille Marie Buschman

Lucille Marie Grove Buschman was born December 3, 1911 in Seely Twp, Iowa. She was the first child of Arizona Deane Anderson and Lauren William Grove. She had 2 sisters, Lorene and Juanita, and one brother, Duane.
At age eight, the family moved to a ranch in Judith Gap, MT, where she grew up. She graduated from Judith Gap High School in 1931.
Lucille met her husband while attending the Great Falls, MT Nursing School. She married Mathias Valentine Buschman on Oct 19, 1932, in Judith Gap, MT. Matt had a young son, Donald, from a previous marriage. They moved to Wisconsin, where Lucille attended the Marquette College of Nursing, graduating in 1946.
In 1949, they decided to make Oregon their permanent home. Matt died suddenly in July, 1952, shortly after a move to Cottage Grove.
Lucille returned to Montana to care for her ailing mother, who died 3 months later. Lucile continued to work in Montana, and returned to Oregon in 1959. She took a job at Dammasch Hospital, where she worked as a nurse until retirement in 1974. In 1968, she bought a home in Scholls, OR, and lived there until 2002, when she moved into Creekside Retirement Village in Beaverton.
Lucille loved gardening, crafts, family history research, and the Portland Trail Blazers. She never missed game. For 25 years, she volunteered at the Beaverton Family History Center.
Lucille Buschman died Jan 20, 2011, in Beaverton, OR.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Matt Buschman; her step-son, Donald Buschman; her sister, Lorene Sears, and her brother, Duane Grove.
She is survived by her sister, Juanita (Pete) Herrada, of Hershey, NB, two grandsons, two granddaughters, and many nieces and nephews.
The family will hold a celebration of her life at a later date.
