ALOHA, ORE. - Mable Hodson Brodock, 95, formerly of central Montana , died of natural causes Sunday, April 8, at OSHU, Portland Ore.
At Mable's request, no services are planned. A celebration of life for Mable and her late husband, Sheldon, is planned for a later date in Montana.
Mable was born Nov. 11, 1916, to John and Isabelle Hodson at their home in Cascade, where she was raised and attended school, graduating from Cascade High School in 1934.
She married Sheldon Brodock of Cascade in March 1946, and moved to Dutton, where they owned and operated Dutton Plumbing and Heating.
In 1956, they moved to Glasgow, where Sheldon worked construction on Glasgow Air Force Base, and Mable worked at Buttrey's Department Store.
They moved to Great Falls in 1961, and lived here until 1967, when they moved to Oregon, where they spent the remainder of their lives. In Oregon, Mable worked at a wine shop and the state liquor store, while Sheldon worked as a plumber.
Mom was very dedicated and protective of her family and friends. The door was always open at the Brodock house, and when you came to stay, which many of you did, you were treated like family.
Mable is survived by her son, Gary Brodock of Fairfield; her daughter, Shelda (Duane) Oglesby of Aloha; grandson Charles Oglesby of Aloha; granddaughters Marci (Jeremy) Gunnell, Sarah (Thyge) Gronning, Jessica (Jason) Wallin and Josi Brodock of Great Falls, Shelane Oglesby of Aloha, and Dalene (Scott) Sorenson of Owatonna, Minn.; 12 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and sister-in-law Rose Brodock of Great Falls.
She was preceded in death by husband Sheldon Brodock; par-ents John and Isabelle Hodson; brothers Charlie and Phil Hodson; a daughter at birth; and a great-granddaughter.
